A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino

Just last Saturday, we finished shooting a short film for our Literature class. We chose Nick Joaquin's "A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino" hence the title of my blog post. We had to shoot it for just two days since my groupmates and I were all busy.
It was my first time to act in front of the camera. Boy! It was really different! I really find it more comfortable doing theater. I started out in theater when I was nine and I guess the transition from theater to film was a bit of a shock to me.
Anyway, my first experience was super fun and I had a blast working with my groupmates. Sorry if the quality is not that good since I was just using my camera phone. (Bringing camera is just to much of a hassle for me that day.)

Welcome to our set! We had to find an old house because of the setting of the story. Lucky for us, we found one and the owners were very kind. They even provided us free lunch! :)

That's me and Entine! We portray the roles of the old maids, Paula and Candida. That explains the 'grey hair' on her. Btw, my 'loveteam' in this story took this photo. It was funny doing the scenes with Neil because he felt intimidated! He's a year younger than me and he treated me like his ate. Haha. I also did the hair and make up on everyone.

I actually took this one without Entine's permission. hehe. We were on our break when I snapped this photo. We were all kinda tired since we had to start shooting early in the morning and ended in the evening.

On September 28, 2012, we will have our very first Filipino Play/Film Festival . Here's the official poster for our short film. Please do help me in winning the People's Choice Award by hitting the like button. :) The link is in here. Every like counts! Thank you!
