Awesome 2012

The year 2012 has been both a happy and sad year for me. As I was looking back at the photos of everything that happened this year, I could not help but laugh and tear up a bit in every event. I work in a fast pace but I really am a very nostalgic person. A day will never pass without at least an hour of my personal reflection of the things that I did. If I enumerate every memorable thing that happened to me this year, it would take ages and I wouldn’t want to miss welcoming the New Year. So, I decided to chop it off to ten.
I’d say this year must be the year where I found my confidence and courage. I know, I sound like a beauty queen. Oh wait! It’s because I joined a beauty pageant this year. Tehee…Here’s my list:
10.   Miss UP Cebu 2012 (finding my confidence and courage)
It was just one the crazy things I listed on my bucket list. All I wanted to do was to join the screening for the heck of it. I was just curious about what happens during beauty pageant screenings. I’m grateful for that experience because it gave the confidence to do photo shoots (There would be no ‘Aimless Wandering’ fashion blog without it), answer the Q &A with grace and a perfect smile and to become socially aware.

9. “Seguro ang Pancit” play and “A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino” short film
Both acting stints gave me a chance to show my talent. When I stepped into college, I left all my artistic pursuits for personal reasons but I guess, I can never really forget the things I truly love. I am more grateful for the chance to work with great people. I started acting in theatre when I was nine years old. I usually get the minor roles before but I was shocked when I was given major roles this year.
Modesty aside, we got the major awards. Entertaining people will always be my main goal but getting recognition from other people gives a rewarding feeling. It makes me forget the long days of filming or practicing and the weeks of memorizing the lines (I seriously hate that part).

8.       Aced an exam in Math
If you follow me on twitter, you would know how much I complain if I have an upcoming exam in Math or how desperate I am to get a passing score. Yes, I am one of the many poor souls who rely to ‘hope’ and ‘guess’ methods in solving equations.
Imagine my joy when I saw this score! Sure, it wasn’t perfect (Math wizards please refrain from laughing) but I can still remember how I felt that day. I felt like some kind of bada** math genius for a day. Sigh. I can only dream. Please let me celebrate this one chance of mathematical glory. I did not earn it in a snap though. I worked hard for it. I was not able to sleep for days because of that exam. I did not even sleep the night before ‘my judgment day’.
Woot! A miracle! :D

7.       Launching of my blog
How can I ever forget this? I do hope I can update it often.

6.       UP Freshies’ Night 2012

It's an annual event for freshmen made by the UP SAGABAY (an organization to which I am part of). It was my first chance to direct an event. With all of my brothers' and ssisters' efforts, it was successful! :)
Stressed is an understatement

7.       Creative and daredevil opportunities
Prod work, published articles, experimenting on a new hair color, make-up and hosting stints... ugh! What a busy year!

4.       Good grades
               Who doesn't love 'em?
I love my GWAs!

3.       Strengthening family ties
Growing up, I was always the hard-headed and sort of the rebellious one. The thing that I regret the most would be giving my family those headaches before. As I grow older, I appreciate my family more. (Miss USA lang? hehe)

2.   Finding the best buds
How will I ever survive this world without them? :D

1. Moving on
My granduncle and grandfather passed away earlier this year. I just ended my 4 year relationship with my boyfriend. It's been a struggle but we have to move on, right? Let's face the new year with a smile and be grateful for everything!

Happy New Year everyone!

Fabulous Christmas

It's fun spending Christmas with family, awesome friends and even nice strangers. Everyone is kind and happy. There's just so much love and generosity. This is the BEST Christmas I ever had for such a long time. My family never liked spending Christmas after my uncle died during Christmas AND his birthday eight years ago. (May he rest in peace)
I'm glad that this year I felt that we have finally moved on. We even had noche buena together! (Imagine my smile while writing this blog post). I'm so sorry for the no-so-good photos, I enjoyed myself so much that I did not even bother thinking about the quality of the photos. *puppy eyes

What I do hate during the holidays is that I gain so much weight from all the parties, reunions and buffets. I'm such a sweet tooth I can't even... *sigh* I really have to exercise a lot after this vacation. TT

Celebrating the holidays need not to be expensive or outrageous. All you gotta do is be with good company (and endless FOOD SUPPLY, just kidding). The photo below shows me and my beloved lola. We were both wearing electric pleated skirts last Sunday. Did I mention we're also wearing the same lipstick shade and nail polish? She's 84 but still critics trends like an immortal fashion police. Sure, she gets cranky (must be the age) at times but I love her so much. She's getting old but I really wish it's not her last Christmas with us.

Ooookay! Before I cry a river, let's shift to a lighter topic. Have a FABULOUS Christmas and spend NEW YEAR with a BLAST!

Feel the Yuletide

Yey! Can you feel the Christmas air? Been busy lately that's why I wasn't able to update immediately. Peace? *puppy eyes*
Anyway, move on to my outfit. I received this sheer top and lace shorts from my grandmother as an early Christmas gift. I swear my lola is the most fashionable woman ever seen. She's 84 but still wears heels. (She's used to wearing 4-6 inches but my mom would not allow it anymore so she settling for 2-3 in.) I know, she's amazing.
I wore this during my friend's birthday. She said we had to wear a dress but I wasn't in the mood to wear skirts. So, I came up with this look. Yes, I was wearing shorts but it still looks formal and dressy for the occasion, right?

I just had to sneak in my outfit shot this day even if it was super busy. The lace shorts is just lovely. I can pair it with a lot of tops. I'm loving sheer tops right now because it looks formal but you won't look too stuffy. This necklace is actually a belt. Hehe. I use it as a bracelet, necklace or a belt. Accessories allow me to be resourceful.

Thanks to Apple for taking these shots in five minutes (?) It was that quick. Happy holidays everyone! :)
